National BJP leader and spokesperson NV Subhash has hit back at Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, terming her statement about “two-headed cobra” as an effort to protect the fast losing grip of her party in West Bengal. While addressing the media yesterday, Subhash said that it’s a reaction from the CM of her party due to its declining influence in the political scenario of the state as the BJP makes rapid advancements.
The incident began when Banerjee criticized the BJP in a press conference for the fight regarding the list of electors. In an election rally held in West Bengal recently, she made a comparison between BJP and two headed cobra and warned people not to believe in BJP as even though you may trust a snake, you can never trust the BJP.

Frustration and ‘Indifference’
“These are nothing but the words of a leader ‘shaken’ by the ground realities,” Subhash explained. “Every time Mamata Banerjee makes any derogatory remark about the Prime Minister Narendra Modi or BJP in general, we are used to hearing that. It is the voice of frustration. She is frustrated because she sees that the BJP has been making substantial progress in West Bengal and also that the sentiment of the people is shifting.”
According to the BJP spokesperson, the misgovernance in West Bengal had brought about the economic decline of a state which was known as one of the most developed states of India. According to Subhash, while other states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the Northeast were experiencing a path of development, West Bengal has ‘shattered’, which made it one of the most impoverished areas of India due to ‘indifference’.

Infiltration and Voting Pattern Changes
Such is the nature of the give-and-take that it is likely to make the air even more charged before the 2026 Assembly elections. Subhash accused Banerjee of placing ‘vote-bank politics’ above all else and letting Bangladeshis into the state under the pretext of giving refuge to Bangladeshi infiltrators. “They were turned into voters, whereas real citizens of West Bengal have been left frustrated because they were neglected,” he continued.
In light of such developments, Subhash was completely convinced about winning the election as BJP was sure to triumph over TMC in Bengal’s upcoming political showdown, which was likely to continue with TMC taking an assertive stance in self-defense of the impending ‘Double Engine’ phenomenon.
