US Report Flags India-Pakistan Nuclear Risk Amid Rising Tensions

India-Pakistan tensions remain a nuclear risk, according to the US Intelligence Community’s Annual Threat Assessment report. The report highlights that while neither country seeks open conflict, conditions exist for terrorist, creating a risk for escalation.
The 2025 Pahalgam terrorist attack is cited as an example of how such incidents can spark conflict. Pakistan’s developing missile technology, potentially including ICBMs, adds to the risk.
The report also notes that President Trump’s intervention helped de-escalate recent nuclear tensions, but the situation remains volatile due to Pakistan’s ties with militant groups and cross-border clashes with the Taliban.
