‘Jag Ladki’ Arrives at Mundra with Crude Oil Amid Tensions

Amid global tensions, India has received a major relief in its fuel supply as three energy-carrying vessels have safely arrived in the country. Of these, ‘Shivalik’ and ‘Nanda Devi’ together brought 92,712 metric tonnes of LPG, while the latest vessel, ‘Jag Ladki’, reached Gujarat’s Mundra port carrying 80,800 metric tonnes of crude oil. This is expected to ease the fuel shortage concerns arising from the ongoing conflict.
The developments come against the backdrop of a drone attack at Fujairah port on March 14, when oil was being loaded onto ‘Jag Ladki’; however, the vessel remained unharmed. Around the same time, Iran clarified that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for countries other than the United States and Israel. In this context, the successive arrival of fuel-laden ships in India is being seen as significant.
