R.N. Ravi Departs Chennai After Transfer to West Bengal

Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will take oath in Chennai on March 12 to assume additional charge as the Governor of Tamil Nadu. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Lok Bhavan following the transfer of former Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi.

However, until Wednesday evening (March 11, 2026), neither Lok Bhavan nor the State government had issued any official communication regarding Raviโ€™s departure. Ravi left Chennai on Wednesday and was given a guard of honour by the State police at the airport. A few officials from the Public Department and staff of Lok Bhavan were present during his departure, but no member of the Tamil Nadu Cabinet attended the farewell as several Ministers reportedly had official engagements that morning.
