10 Crore Boi Tirtha Project Gets Green Light for Kolkata Book Fair Grounds

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has approved a ₹10 crore project to create a permanent “Boi Tirtha” (Book Sanctuary) at the Kolkata Book Fair grounds.

This landmark will be a museum-cum-mall showcasing rare and valuable books, and is expected to be ready by the 50th anniversary of the International Kolkata Book Fair in 2027.The announcement was made during the inauguration of the 49th International Kolkata Book Fair, which features participation from 20 countries, including Argentina as the focal theme country.

The fair is expected to draw a recorded more than 27 lakh visitors and has generated significant interest among book lovers and literary enthusiasts.
