Erosion of Bengali Language in Politics?
We Want Our Bengali in Bengal…

In today’s turbulent times, the Bengali language stands above all as our mother tongue, and Saraswati Bhandar has been striving to preserve and protect it.

Through the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, the Honorable Chief Minister of our state, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, has been supporting countless people with continuous support. But along with Lakshmi (prosperity), we also need Saraswati (knowledge and culture) — in our voices, our minds, and our consciousness. That is why, during an election season, the journey of Saraswati Bhandar began.

According to Jharna Bhattacharyya, the major driving force behind Saraswati Bhandar:

“Day by day, linguistic violence is increasing, and along with it, the bleeding of the mind, indiscipline and contempt are growing. We do not want this era to be remembered in history as an age of linguistic violence. Therefore, everyone — from politics and administration to society at large — must become aware. The News-Media must also become conscious and responsible.”

For many years, Saraswati Bhandar has been carrying out various activities in the interest of language and for building a healthy society.

On 28th December, Sunday afternoon, just before the end of this year, leaving behind all the year’s grievances, impurities, abusive speech, and harmful words, and with hope for welcoming the new year, Saraswati Bhandar had organized this seminar on Preservation of BENGALI LANGUAGE.
