July unity warning : Will enter High Commission if attackers of Osman Hadi and Sheikh Hasina are not returned

July Unity has warned that it will enter the Indian High Commission, ignoring police obstacles, if the attackers of Inqilab Manch convener Sharif Osman Hadi and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was sentenced to death for the July murder, are not immediately returned.

The ‘July Unity’, a front of several organizations associated with the July Uprising, ended its ‘March to Indian High Commission’ program towards the Indian High Commission in Dhaka with this warning at around 5 pm on Wednesday.

The front announced the program last Wednesday, demanding the return of Sheikh Hasina and those convicted in the July massacre case, and alleging “continued conspiracy by Indian proxy political parties and government officials.”

As part of the program, a procession led by July Unity organizers started from Rampura in the capital at around 3 pm today. When the procession reached Badda’s Hossain Market area around 4 pm, police stopped it. Later, the participants of the program sat on the road there.

Then, the protesters were seen standing there and chanting slogans like ‘Delhi or Dhaka, Dhaka or Dhaka’; ‘Indian domination, we don’t accept it, we don’t accept it’. At that time, they were seen holding various placards against Indian domination.

Several former army officers, several leaders of Dhaka University and Jahangirnagar University Central Student Unions (DUCSU and JACSU), and students of various universities, schools, colleges, and madrasas participated in today’s program.

July Unity organizer Israfil Farazi told Prothom Alo, “Today’s program was a warning message. We have learned that India has appointed lobbyists for the genocidal party Awami League, who are approaching various parties including BNP-Jamaat to rehabilitate the Awami League. Similarly, efforts to bring back the Awami League are being observed from embassies of various countries.”

Israfil Farazi, ‘cautioning’ those who want to rehabilitate the Awami League by staying with India, said, ‘Today we are stopping, the administration will not be able to show the power to stop us in the future. Today we have come in thousands, in the future we will come in millions. If all the murderers, including Sheikh Hasina, are not returned, then the days ahead will not be good for India.’

At the program, Zubair bin Nesari alias AB Zubair, organizer of July Unity and DUCSU Social Service Secretary, said, “Narendra Modi, (Indian Prime Minister) listen carefully. If your aggression does not stop, if there is more shooting on the border, if you shelter the murderers of our country, if you do not return Hasina; then we will do whatever is necessary to stop your hegemony.”

At this time, AB Zubair issued a warning, saying, “Today we have come to the High Commission to show the hatred we have for you. We have stopped here today; if you do not reform, then we will enter inside (the High Commission) as well.”
