Major Hotel chains to pump over £10,000 crore in North Bengal 

To boost the regional economy, leading national hotel chains are set to infuse more than £10,000 crore into Siliguri and the northern district of West Bengal signalling strong confidence in the area’s potential as a commercial and tourism hub.

The announcement comes amid remarkable growth in the micro, small and medium enterprises ( MSME) sector which has attracted nearly $ 4,000 crore in investment over the past couple of years. This reflects the region’s emergence as a flourishing destination for both hospitality and small business expansion creating fresh employment and economic development.

Industry experts say that the hotel investments are expected to transform the hospitality landscape of North Bengal, further enhancing its connectivity to major trade and tourist circuits. The inflow is also likely to improve infrastructure, quality of services and attract ancillary industries that support tourism and business travel.

Meanwhile, the surge in MSME funding highlights the increasing interest in ground-level entrepreneurship driven by supportive government policies and an improving business climate. With sustained investment momentum, Siliguri and its neighbouring districts are positioned to become key contributors to the state’s overall economic growth.
