Centre does not want change of power in Bengal! Explosive Abhijit Ganguly vents anger against BJP

A few months before the assembly elections, BJP MP from Tamluk Abhijit Gangopadhyay has increased the party’s unease. The central government does not want a change of power in West Bengal, the BJP MP claims. He also raised questions about whether the BJP wants to defeat the Trinamool Congress at all.

In an interview with a news outlet on Thursday, the former High Court judge said, “My intention in joining the BJP and contesting the elections was to make all kinds of arrangements to remove Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from power. But I have not been able to come close to that objective till date. The responsibility for this lies with the central government. The central government has done nothing for this.”

He said, “Seeing the central government’s action, I feel that the center does not want to change the situation in West Bengal. If the central government does not want it, then that change will not happen. Why Article 355 should not be imposed in a state like West Bengal without rule and administration, that is a big question for me.”

When asked whether it is possible for the BJP to move the Trinamool Congress, he did not give a direct answer and said, “This is a very deep question. I will not go into that question today. I may go into it after a few days.”

The BJP MP from Tamluk has also expressed dissatisfaction over the BJP’s campaign by bringing Hindi-speaking leaders to Bengal. He said, “We cannot bring leaders from this Hindi belt and get them elected here. Because the Delhi-based leaders do not understand the minds, moods, and pride of the people of West Bengal. West Bengal is a completely different place. The people here, their thinking, will not match the rest of India, especially North India. So, sending leaders from there, getting them elected, and winning them out is an unrealistic idea.”

He also believes that the police in West Bengal should be brought under the control of the central government and voted.ย

Abhijit Ganguly also raised questions about the investigation by the ED and CBI. He said, “A bunch of allegations against Trinamool leaders. Is even one person being interrogated in custody? Now I think that several big and senior officials of the CBI and ED are supported by anti-BJP political parties.”

Regarding Abhijit Ganguly’s explosive claims, BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh said, “If he expresses his views in the appropriate place, then there will be a discussion.”
