We are waiting. Without blood, no corrupt rule ends. Many said that (Mahatma) Gandhiji liberated the country by playing songs. I personally do not believe in it.”

He further added that “Unemployed youths should learn from Nepal. There, the youth of 18 to 30 years have shown power. “This is needed in Bengal. The day when the youth of Bengal awaken, we are willing to lead from the front.”

TMC replies back to Arjun Singh

Reacting to the controversial remarks, Partha Bhowmick a TMC member and an MP from Barrackpore where he reported that him and his party members will file an FIR against at all the police stations across the state for threatening to kill the West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, he said “When illiterates speak, they speak like this. Bangladesh is a country. Nepal is also a country. And West Bengal is a state. He (Singh) is telling the youth of India to do this against the Government of India. Because in the country and the BJP-ruled states, there is corruption. Nevertheless, we will never say that India is a country like Nepal because we are believers in democracy. He basically threatened to kill the chief minister.”

After the FIR remark by TMC Member Partha Bhowmick, the BJP member replied back and stated that “I am not afraid of their threat. They can file as many complaints against me. But, I will not change my stand.”

In the previous year Lok Sabha elections, Bhowmick defeated Singh to gain control of the seat in Barrackpore.
