Pakistan Connection Clear in Pahalgam Attack, Says Amit Shah in Parliament
Home Minister Amit Shah told Parliament that all three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack came from Pakistan. Security forces identified them as Suleman, Afghan, and Jibran. Indian intelligence confirmed their nationality.
During Operation Mahadev on July 28, the Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police killed all three attackers. Shah said these terrorists carried out the April 22 attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians.
Forensic Tests Link Weapons to Attack
Authorities recovered two AK-47 rifles and a US-made M9 pistol from the encounter site. Ballistic reports confirmed that the same weapons were used in the Pahalgam massacre. Investigators sent the firearms to Chandigarh Forensic Science Laboratory for testing.
Officials also recovered Pakistan-made chocolates, voter ID cards, and other items from the terrorists. Shah said these items proved the attackers crossed over from Pakistan with support.
Shah Rebukes Opposition in Lok Sabha
Former Home Minister P. Chidambaram asked how the government confirmed the terrorists were Pakistani. Shah responded sharply. He accused Chidambaram of trying to protect Pakistan by questioning India’s evidence.
Shah said the government interviewed over 1,000 witnesses. Locals who had seen or interacted with the attackers identified them after their deaths. Security agencies also matched body features and DNA samples.
India Carried Out Operation Sindoor in Response
After the April 22 killings, India launched Operation Sindoor. Forces targeted terror camps across the Line of Control. Shah confirmed the strike sent a strong message to those aiding terrorism.
He said every person involved in the massacre would face consequences. โHar vyakti ko chun chun ke jawab milega,โ Shah declared. He said India would not tolerate attacks on its citizens.
