Indian Ex-Army Commando Shares Harrowing Story Amid Pakistani Shelling During ‘Operation Sindoor’

As tensions between India and Pakistan escalate in the wake of “Operation Sindoor,” a former Indian Army commando has shared a chilling account of how his family was caught in the crossfire during Pakistani artillery shelling. The operation was launched by India in retaliation to the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 dead, including Hindu pilgrims. The military strikes targeted terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, aiming to dismantle militant networks responsible for the attack.

A Family in Danger: Ex-Army Commando’s Account

The ex-army commando, speaking anonymously, described how his family was forced to flee their home in the midst of intense shelling. He recounted how Pakistani forces violated the ceasefire and launched heavy artillery fire across the Line of Control (LoC), putting the lives of civilians at grave risk.

“I had to take my wife and children outside, away from the danger zone. We could hear the sound of shells whistling past us. The situation was terrifying,” he said. “The shelling was relentless, and we were unsure of when it would stop.”

Pakistan’s Ceasefire Violations and Civilian Impact

This incident highlights the human cost of the ongoing conflict. Pakistan’s continuous ceasefire violations, especially in the wake of military operations like “Operation Sindoor,” have resulted in widespread displacement and casualties among civilians living along the LoC. The former commando’s testimony serves as a stark reminder of the risks faced by innocent families in conflict zones.

Indian Government’s Position

In response to the escalating situation, the Indian government has reiterated its right to defend its citizens and take necessary actions against cross-border terrorism. India has called on Pakistan to respect the ceasefire agreements and stop supporting terrorist activities that harm civilian populations on both sides of the border.

“Operation Sindoor is a response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, and while we regret the collateral damage caused by the ongoing hostilities, our priority is to ensure the safety and security of Indian citizens,” an Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson stated.

Conclusion: The Toll on Civilians

As the situation unfolds, the human toll of the conflict remains clear. Civilians living in the shadow of the LoC continue to bear the brunt of these hostilities. The ex-army commando’s experience highlights the personal hardships faced by families caught in the crossfire of political and military tensions.
