Telangana High Court Halts Plans to Clear 400 Acres of Green Space Near Hyderabad University

Hyderabad: On Wednesday morning, a violent confrontation occurred between police and protesters from the University of Hyderabad when a peaceful rally planned by the student organisation and a teachers’ union turned into a violent conflict. Moreover, certain officers were already positioned and had locked the eastern side of the campus. Students were also trying to move towards the area in which the bulldozers were actively working to clear the land and working to clash with them. 

Whereas the officers expressed concerns over the newly set up access-defining fences that students perceive as hindering access, students were saying that the deforestation is said to continue for 72 hours nonstop. As a consequence of their defiance, many students decided to go on strike, demanding that police and construction vehicles be withdrawn from the campus. 

In the heat of the protest, the protesting faculty members were given attention and were in the middle of the students. The Chancellor told them respecting the efforts those students were exerting over deflecting the bulldozers should have some merit. He said about that decision of the exec you blad on the ejection council asking putting to further use on state control of the university’s estate land that needed to be kept safe over those pieces of land. 

In his defense, the Chancellor recalled that this piece of land in controversy is still not in the possession of the university and that the most secure measure against further invasion would be to make this land so-called put under constructed means of proper legal title those shams used those deeds. Most representatives of the student union however advance directly on this part of the land to the Minister of Education where they filed a petition to consider resolution of the problem.
