15-Year-Old Forced to Lick Toilet, Bullied Over Skin Colour, Dies by Suicide

Kochi, January 30, 2025 – The shocking suicide of 15-year-old Mihir Ahammed has ignited a storm of outrage and demands for justice, as his grieving mother, Rajna P.M., reveals harrowing details of the relentless bullying and ragging he endured at Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor, Ernakulam. A formal police complaint has been filed, and a First Information Report (FIR No. 42/2025) has been registered at Hill Palace Police Station, Thripunithara.

Mihir, described by his family as a happy and loving child, took his own life on January 15, 2025, by jumping from the 26th floor of his home in Choice Paradise, Thripunithara, barely an hour after returning from school. His devastated parents, in their pursuit of answers, uncovered disturbing evidence of systematic abuse inflicted upon him by a group of students at his school and on the school bus.

Horrific Acts of Abuse and Racial Slurs

According to Mihir’s mother, her son was subjected to physical assaults, verbal abuse, and extreme humiliation. In a particularly heinous act on the very day of his death, Mihir was allegedly dragged into the washroom, forced to lick a toilet seat, and had his head pushed into the toilet as it was flushed.

Adding a horrifying layer to the abuse, Mihir’s tormentors reportedly mocked his skin color and continued their cruelty even after his death. A chilling chat screenshot surfaced, allegedly showing the perpetrators celebrating his demise with a message reading, “fk nigga he actually died.”

School’s Alleged Cover-Up and Suppression of Evidence

In the wake of Mihir’s suicide, his friends created an Instagram page titled “Justice for Mihir” to expose the bullying he suffered. However, the page was mysteriously deleted, leading to fears that the school is intimidating students and attempting to suppress the truth.

When Mihir’s parents presented their findings to the school administration, they were met with indifference and evasion. The school merely stated that they had forwarded the information to the police, raising suspicions of a cover-up aimed at protecting the institution’s reputation.

Police Investigation and Appeals for Justice

Mihir’s mother has submitted a detailed letter to the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Chief Minister’s Office, calling for an immediate, impartial probe into her son’s death. She has also approached the Child Commission, urging an inquiry into allegations that Mihir faced harassment from the vice principal of his previous school, GEMS Kochi.

While a police investigation is underway, Mihir’s mother fears that delays in securing digital evidence may allow the culprits to erase incriminating traces of their abuse.

A Call for Change

Demanding accountability, Mihir’s mother has vowed to fight until those responsible for her son’s death face the full force of the law.

“I am begging for justice for Mihir. His death must not go in vain. Those responsible for this barbaric act must be punished, and systemic changes must be made to ensure no other child suffers like Mihir did,” she said.

The case has sparked a national conversation about bullying, ragging, and racial discrimination in schools, exposing the failure of institutions to protect vulnerable students.

As the investigation unfolds, the public outcry continues to grow, with many calling for strict anti-ragging policies and swift legal action against the perpetrators. The question remains: Will Mihir’s tragic death bring about the justice and change his family desperately seeks, or will another young life be lost to a broken system?
