First-Year GITAM Student Dies After Fall From University Building

Sangareddy, January 6 – An 18-year-old female student at GITAM University Hyderabad died Friday after leaping from the fifth floor of a university building in Rudraram.

The deceased has been identified as Renu Sri, a first-year engineering student who had joined GITAM University three months ago to study Computer Science Engineering. She was a native of Madhapur, Hyderabad.

According to police, Renu died instantly upon impact after the fall. Her body has been transferred to Area Hospital Patancheru for a postmortem examination.

Police have registered a case regarding the incident. The reasons behind Renu’s actions are currently under investigation.

Renu was living away from home on the GITAM University campus at the time of her death. Her parents, who reside in Madhapur, Hyderabad, have been notified.
