Pakistani Anchor Taken Of Air After He Criticised Military

Noted Pakistani news anchor Hamid Mir has been taken off air after he criticised the military. He is a well known critic to the Pakistani military and its intelligence agency, ISI. He hosted a talk show on ‘Geo TV’ named ‘Capital Talk’. Hamid himself told this development via a tweet. 

He said – 

Nothing new for me. I was banned twice in the past. Lost jobs twice.Survived assassination attempts but cannot stop raising voice for the rights given in the constitution.This time I m ready for any consequences and ready to go at any extent because they are threatening my family.

Reacting to this Geo TV has said that Hamid will be a part of Geo TV but will be sent on a long leave.

Pakistan’s human right commission took note of this development and condemned this act.
