Masterclass at the Chinnaswamy: Virat Kohli Commands the Crease as RCB Overpowers Gujarat Titans in a High-Stakes Thriller

An intensely competitive match took place in 2026 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT). Captain of RCB, Rajat Patidar, won the toss and decided to ball first since the conditions of the batting pitch were extremely good.

Gujarat Titans scored an outstanding score of 205/3 in IPL 2026 with the outstanding performance of Sai Sudharsan, who scored an excellent hundred for them. Once again the batting brilliance of Virat Kohli made the match exciting till its very end.

Sudharsan Powers Gujarat to Massive Total

Openers of Gujarat played excellently as they exploited the PowerPlay time of the innings to the fullest. Both Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill played brilliantly together to help them make an outstanding partnership of 128 runs.

Though the inning of Sai Sudharsan was quite wonderful in itself, it is still surprising that he could hit 11 fours and five sixes in this match. Although making a wonderful score in partnership, RCB bowlers still tried their best not to allow Gujarat score even a single run further in the innings.

Masterclass Performance by Virat Kohli

In pursuit of 206, the RCB had pinned all their hopes on their inspirational opener to give them an explosive beginning. Virat Kohli certainly didn’t let them down and delivered a classic innings of 81 runs in just 44 balls.

Both of them contributed explosively to a run stand of 100 runs where Devdutt Padikkal scored 55 runs. Here came a historical moment when the ‘master blaster’ Virat Kohli became the first-ever player who hit 800 fours in the IPL tournament.

Exciting Finale at the Chinnaswamy

In an exciting twist of events, the spinners from the Titans bowled Bengaluru out in the middle order. The batting powerhouse had a comfortable start but then ended up at 173/5 after the wickets of Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar.

Although the dismissal of wickets by Jason Holder did light a fire on the side of the batting team, it was the sheer depth in batting which the Bengaluru had which sustained the score up till the very last minute.

This match once again proved what an incredible player Virat Kohli was in the field of Twenty20 cricket, and the record-breaking performance by Kohli made sure that fans were entertained with the contest of giants.
