This information was given in a notification signed by the university’s registrar Sheikh Rezaul Karim on Thursday (November 6).

Accused Dhanishri Roy is a second-semester postgraduate student in the Microbiology Department of the University’s Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.

The notification said that Dhanishri Roy, a second-semester postgraduate student at the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, was expelled from the residential hall for life on the recommendation of the university’s disciplinary board for posting obscene and religiously provocative comments on social media on October 24. At the same time, Dhanishri Roy was expelled from the academic activities of the current semester.

On Saturday night, October 25, a group of students staged a protest march against the student for allegedly insulting religion on Facebook. At that time, they demanded the expulsion of the insulter. After taking up a position in front of the vice-chancellor’s residence, the students left the place after being assured by the administration.
