Kashmir’s Tourist Spots Remain Closed to Visitors Due to Security Concerns

As part of the security review following the recent attack on tourists, the government of India has closed more than half of the borders in the Kashmiri region. According to reports, 48 out of the 87 places of interest have been red flagged. The new travel bans go into effect on the 2nd of May. 

Hindu tourist Pahalgam was hit by gunmen whose aim was to eliminate a couple of tourist and was left with a body-count of 26. Of the three assailants, two are said to be Pakistani trained militants which raised the red-flag for India to respond in anger and claim that Pakistan is offering terrorist funding and refuge which they are known to cancel whatever the facts are. While Pakistan seem to have disowned the idea of going into war, there is indeed a half backed call for “an if unbiased” assassination on claims that exist. 

Post this ugly turn of events between India and Pakistan, both countries are in arms while India has jumped straight towards canceling the Indus Waters Treaty and Pakistan blocking their airspace to all Indian airlines which makes them the solo frontline for war. 

The same government settlement of Indian occupied Kashmir has begun tightening the borders of the rest of the places open for tourists where as no due date has been provided for the stops. The region is famous across international borders for being the face of mesmerizing beauty, history and gardens but the latest shift in global chaos acts as a scare for international commuters alongside increasing violence in general.

In the disputes at the border, the Indian Army claimed that they have responded to light calibur fire from Pakistani squads for five days in a row.
