This is the first story of the Wankhede series.

CBI filed an FIR against five people, including the then Mumbai zonal director of NCB Sameer Wankhede. The CBI has registered an FIR based on the report of NCB’s vigilance department. NCB’s vigilance department has alleged many wrongdoings when Sameer Wankhede arrested bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.

NewsTapOne.com has accessed the entire FIR.

What does the FIR say?

The Central Bureau of Investigation in its FIR has alleged corruption in the Aryan Khan case investigation. The SET [Special Enquiry Team] constituted by the NCB to investigate the wrong-doings in the raid and arrests at the Cruise Drug Case made a few revelations.

The SET report says, “Names of certain suspects were dropped form the first information note – ‘I-Note”. The initial I-Note had about 27 names, it was then modified to just 10 names. Arbaz Merchant accepted to have a packet of Charas hidden in his shoe. He himself handed it over to the Investigating officer Ashish Ranjan. The report also said that NCB let a few ‘Suspects’ leave, without any documentation. The person who supplied charas to Arbaz Merchant was also allowed to leave. The report said that, the SET found incriminating chats of supplier [Siddharth Shah] which showed that he himself consumed drugs. All the accused were brought to the NCB office in KP Gosavi’s private car. KP Gosavi was brought as an independent witness, he breached norms of an independent witness by being present in the company of accused and he was also allowed to enter the NCB office after the raid, which is also against the norms. KP Gosavi at this time took selfies and recorded the voice of Aryan Khan.

This was done to allow KP Gosavi and his aide Sanvile D’Souza to extort an amount of Rs 25 crores from the family of the alleged accused Aryan Khan. The amount was later negotiated to Rs 18 crore. A token amount of Rs 50 lakh was paid to the duo. Later a part of the Rs 50 lakh was returned back.

Sameer Wankhede’s role

Sameer Wankhede, the then Zonal Director had decided to take KP Gosavi and Prabhakar Sail as independent witness in the proceedings. He also directed VV Singh to let KP Gosavi handle the accused, this gave KP Gosavi a free hand to create a visual impression that KP Gosavi had the accused persons in his custody.

Enquiries were made on the allegations of criminal misconduct and corrupt practices of Sameer Wankhede, which disclosed that “Could not sufficiently justify their acquired assets as per their declared income.”

Sameer Wankhede also did not properly explain his foreign visits. He mis-declared the expenditure of his foreign travels. He also involved in sale and purchase of expensive wrist watched with a private person named Viral Rajan. Sameer Wankhede did not intimate the department about the same.

Who are the accused persons?

The FIR has named about 5 people as accused in this case. The are:

  1. Sameer Wankhede, IRS and the then Zonal Director at NCB’s Mumbai Zonal Unit.
  2. Vishwa Vijay Singh, the then Supdt. at NCB.
