Delhi’s Vay Vandana Yojana Launched: Free ₹10 Lakh Healthcare for Senior Citizens
On April 28, 2025, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the Vay Vandana Yojana, offering free healthcare up to ₹10 lakh for residents aged 70 and above. The scheme, part of Ayushman Bharat, provides cashless treatment at nearly 100 empanelled hospitals, with unique health cards storing medical records. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri hailed it as a historic step, while Gupta criticized past governments for delaying such benefits.
