High Alert in Bengal Districts during Elections. 

April 23,2026: Security has been increased across West Bengal due to the fear of violence during the ongoing election. The Election Commission of India has put central security force on high alert in three sensitive districts, which are Murshidabad, Cooch Behar and Birbhum. 

According to the officials, violence may increase later in the day, after most people have casted their votes. There is a risk of booth capturing, threat to voters and clashes between party workers. To prevent such incidents, the central forces have been asked to stay alert and act quickly if any trouble takes place. 

Violence in murshidaabaad raises concerns. 

The warning comes after recent incidents of violence in several parts of the state. In Murshidaabaad, there have been fights, stone pelting and bomb attacks. These incidents have raised concerns about the voters safety and whether the elections can be held fairly or not. Apart from this, incidents of violence and voter intimidation took place in Asansol and Dinajpur during the early phase of polling. In some cases the voters were stopped and influenced while trying to cast their vote. 

Security stepped up for safe voting. 

More than 8,000 polling booths are marked sensitive and hence to maintain law and order authorities are taking extra precautions. 

They have sent central forces to make sure the voting happens fairly.  Senior officials are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that the election is held in peace. 

The officials have asked the people to vote without being scared. They also said that strict actions will be taken against anyone who is involved violence or attempts to disturb the election process.
