Aneet Padda Opens Up: Success of Latest Film Helped Her Overcome Anxiety and Depression

30 August-Kolkata, India: Aneet Padda and Ahaan Pandey’s ‘Saiyaara’ created some huge waves at the Bollywood box office and broke numerous records, which is amazing, especially since it is a film with actors who both made their Bollywood debut.

In just 17 days, the Mohit Suri-directed film has surpassed the Rs 300 milestone, which is nothing short of spectacular. Additionally, it is now the first YRF movie available for Netflix streaming.

The movie garnered praise for its acting, storyline and direction not only from the fans but also from some well-known Bollywood celebrities such as Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Babu, Arjun Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Ameesha Patel, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Siddharth Anand, Karan Johar, Anurag Basu and Anil Kapoor, among others.

Aneet Padda on acting

After the movie’s huge success, the film’s female lead actor Aneet Padda gave her first interview with the Hollywood Reporter where she stated that she started to enjoy acting only after this movie’s huge success. She stated that “For three years before that, I had terrible anxiety and depression.”

She further added that “I always wanted to act. I would be recording auditions and locking my door, telling my parents I was doing homework. I knew Iโ€™d have to do this on my own because my parents didnโ€™t have enough money to take me to Mumbai to audition.”

She responded, “My mom, my dad, my friends, that’s what matters,” when asked whose opinions have the biggest impact on her. I don’t really care about anyone else.

Aneet made her acting debut as ‘Roohi’ in the Amazon Prime coming-of-age drama movie Big Girls Donโ€™t Cry (2024), directed by Nitya Mehra and featuring a star cast of Pooja Bhatt and Raima Sen.
