PM Modi to Inaugurate Vande Bharat Express in Jammu & Kashmir

In a historic move for connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the SMVD Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express on June 6, 2025. This marks a major milestone in linking the Union Territory with India’s high-speed rail network.

First Vande Bharat in J&K

This will be the first-ever Vande Bharat Express running in Jammu and Kashmir, a region that has long awaited advanced rail services. The train will connect Katra (Vaishno Devi) to Srinagar, significantly reducing travel time and improving passenger comfort.

Boost to Tourism and Economy

The new high-speed train is expected to boost tourism in the region, especially to religious and scenic destinations like Vaishno Devi and Gulmarg. It will also help local businesses and improve access for students, professionals, and daily commuters.

A Symbol of Progress

This launch is part of the Indian government’s ongoing effort to enhance infrastructure in J&K. The Vande Bharat Express is not just a train—it’s a symbol of progress, integration, and development in the valley.
