In a statement written in Urdu, Masood Azhar acknowledged the loss of his family members, expressing “no regret, no despair.” He emphasized that their deaths would not deter the organization’s objectives.
Operation Sindoor: A Retaliation for the Pahalgam Attack
India launched Operation Sindoor in response to the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam attack, where militants killed 26 civilians, predominantly Hindu tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, attributed to The Resistance Front, an LeT offshoot, involved assailants separating victims based on religious identity before executing them.

Pakistan’s Reaction and International Concerns
Pakistan condemned the strikes as an “act of war,” reporting 26 civilian deaths and 46 injuries.
