Student Climbs Mount Fuji, Gets Rescued Twice in One Week

Mount Fuji shuts off-season climbs post chaos.

      A 27 year old student was rescued from Japan’s most famous Mount Fuji twice in a week after he returns in search of his phone.
      The climber whose name has not been revealed is a Chinese student currently residing in Japan due to educational purposes. On 22nd April (Tuesday), he was first rescued from the Fujinomiya trail after he fell ill . However, he returned to the mountain on Saturday in search of his phone and other belongings which he left behind, thus falling ill once again. The rescue team reported that he fell sick due to altitude sickness and was rescued from an altitude of 9842 feet. They further confirmed that the man has not received any injuries during the trail and his life is not in danger.
      Although it was the off season, this man climbed the mountain against the official climbing season which runs typically from July to September. Mount Fuji’s official site has issued a notice closing all summit trails for the off season.
