Indian Economy grows, leaves behind UK to become 5th Largest in the world and $5T by 2026: Reports

In a report published on Bloomberg, India has left behind the United Kingdom in terms of the economy size of the country. India is now the 5th largest economy. India is only behind US, China, Japan and Germany. A decade ago, India was the world’s 10th largest economy, while UK remained on the 5th spot.

This graph inferes how big the UK economy was, compared to Indian economy in 1990. In 1990, the UK economy had crossed the mark of 1 trillion, when India was struggling to build a half trillion economy.
This year, the Pound fell 8% against the Indian Rupee.
Indian economy is forcasted to grow 7% this year.
Factors of this economic downfall of the UK is said to be the Pandemic and the increase in cost of living.
Bank of England has said that, UK is facing the fastest inflation in the last four decades. This is forcasted to go into the last quater of 2024.
India a $5,000,000,000,000 Economy by 2026
This Bloomberg report has also forcasted that India will grow to become a $ 5 Trillion economy by the year 2026. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken about India becoming a $5 Trillion economy in his Independence Day address from the Red Fort. While India too witnessed a small economic backlash due to the Pandemic and Ukraine War, this claim of the Indian Government looked unrealistic. After the recent surge in the Indian Economy, it seems to be a very realistic goal for the Asian superpower.
