ED's Order Copy Shows 'India Today' Involved in TRP Rigging, 'Republic TV' not mentioned: Exclusive Details
The Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) investigation into the money laundering case has made some big revelation in the TRP scam case. News Tap Global has accessed the Provisional Attachment Order of ED which mentions that ‘India Today’ channel is involved in this case.
“An FIR no. 843/2020 dated 06.10.2020 under sections under 409, 420, 120B and 34 of the Indian Penal Code of Indian Penal Code was registered at Kandivali Police station, Mumbai on the basis of the complaint filed by Shri Nitin Deokar, DGM of M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd. against Shri Vishal Ved Bhandari, Relationship Manager of M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd., mentioning that Shri Vishal Bhandari was involved in the work of raising TRP of India Today Channel by convincing Households to watch that Channel”, stated the ED’s order copy.
Household statements recorded by Enforcement Directorate states that they were paid money to watch ‘India Today’ news channel. Other channels named are ‘News Nation’, ‘Fakt Marathi Channel’, ‘Maha Movie’, and ‘Box Cinema’. There is not even a single mention of Republic TV in the 58-page order.
