Floods Leave Thousands Stranded as Several Areas Go Under Water

The flood situation in parts of West Bengal has become serious after heavy rainfall and rising water levels in rivers. Several areas have gone under water, affecting thousands of people.

Houses, roads and farmland have been damaged in the affected areas. Many residents have been forced to leave their homes and move to safer places. People are also facing problems with transport, food and other basic needs.

Malda is among the badly affected areas. Bhutni and Ratua have reported flooding and river erosion. Government ministers and officials visited the affected areas to inspect the situation and review relief work.

Rescue teams and local authorities are continuing relief operations. Food, drinking water and other essential items are being provided to affected residents.
Officials are closely monitoring river water levels as more rain could make the situation worse in some areas.
