The weekend started on a thrilling note in the IPL 2026 as the classic encounter between the Punjab Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad turned them crazy. SRH’s batting carnage leaves PBKS bowlers stunned

The batting unit has always been the biggest strength of the Sunrisers Hyderabad side, and the Punjab crowd faced the heat. Opening the innings, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave the Orange Army a dream start. Attacking from the very first ball, the explosive duo powered the team to a massive 105 runs in the powerplay. 

After completing an 18-ball half-century, Abhishek Sharma was looking unstoppable until Shashank Singh came to bowl. Coming to action in the ninth over, he removed Head in the first delivery and sent Abhishek back in the third delivery. 

That proved to be heavy on the team, but Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen stitched a 47-run partnership. Though Punjab Kings bowlers tightened their grips later on, the Sunrisers posted a massive total of 219 runs on the scoreboard. 

SRH lose grip as PBKS flip the script with power

After putting the giant total on the board, SRH was confident, but the PBKS openers set the tone high. While opening the innings, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya stitched a 99-run partnership. After scoring 57 runs in just 20 balls, Arya walked away, and Cooper Connolly walked out to bat. 

In the 11th over, SRH bowler Shivang Kumar hit the jackpot as he removed Connolly in just 11 runs. As PBKS stumbled a bit, the captain, Shreyas Iyer, stitched a game-changing partnership with Nehal Wadhera. 

Along with that, he completed another sensational half-century in just 24 deliveries. Even though SRH bowlers had a tough time, Shivang Kumar grabbed three crucial wickets while conceding 33 runs in four overs. With the six-wicket victory against SRH, PBKS extended their unbeaten streak in the IPL 2026.
