Titans’ powerful batting puts DC bowlers under pressure

Since the IPL 2026 started, Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans’ form has been under scrutiny after two consecutive defeats. But they just found the rhythm at the right time as the batters showcased excellence in the clash against the Delhi Capitals. While batting first, the Titans lost a quick wicket, as Mukesh Kumar removed Sai Sudharsan in just 15 runs. 

After that early setback, GT bounced back, and captain Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler stitched a solid  60-run partnership. Even though Buttler walked away with a fiery 27-ball 52-run knock, the skipper stayed and played an impactful innings of 70 runs in just 45 balls.

Coming to bat at the number four position, Washington Sundar’s responsible half-century pushed the side to put on a challenging total of 210 against the opponent. DC’s bowling attack appeared ineffective, with only Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav managing to make an impact while the rest of the bowlers went wicketless.

As the Titans’ bowlers tried to keep the domination alive, KL Rahul sparked as the brightest ray of hope for Delhi. He stood tall amidst the storm and scored a crucial fifty. Just when he seemed destined for a well-deserved century, Mohammed Siraj ended his brilliant effort on 92 runs.

With Rashid Khan’s incredible dominance with three wickets while conceding only 17 runs, GT aimed for an easy victory, but David Miller stepped in with sheer courage. With some incredible big hits, he took the contest closer, and the Arun Jaitley Stadium saw a clinical thriller.
