Howrah Rail Disruption: Major Cancellations Affect Suburban Travel This Sunday

Many railway commuters traveling in the Howrah Railway Division are being subjected to huge inconvenience due to massive train cancellations today. According to the officials of Eastern Railway, many train cancellations have occurred because of maintenance blocks being enforced throughout various segments of the division. As a result, 44 local trains and passengers have been canceled today.
This massive inconvenience to commuters started early today morning and will last until afternoon time. As per the maintenance schedule for today, 14 important sections will undergo maintenance from 10:00 AM to 3:35 PM. Some of these sections are Howrah-Bandel, Howrah-Barddhaman Main Line, Howrah-Barddhaman Chord Line, Howrah-Memari, and Howrah-Katwa.

This recent rush of cancellations has created a state of chaos among the passengers traveling by the suburban railway service on Sundays. At present, the digital display board at Howrah Junction displays a lengthy list of canceled trains, with an important message that says “MAJOR DISRUPTION – SUNDAY AFTERNOON.” This digital display board includes many canceled EMU trains heading for important stations such as Bandel, Barddhaman, Memari, and Katwa, along with many canceled passenger trains.
The concourse of Howrah Station was packed with passengers seeking information from the departure boards and inquiry counters regarding their journeys.
