Star Storm in Bengal Politics: Rudranil Ghosh in Shibpur, Journalist Santu Pan in Tarakeswar: BJP’s Big Move for the 2026 Election Battle

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its first list of 144 candidates in the coming 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections including the names of high-profile candidates as well as new candidates with their names and faces in the media and entertainment sector.
Rudranil Ghosh (Shibpur): The politician-actor has officially been nominated to the Shibpur constituency of Howrah. Ghosh, who once opposed the 2021 elections with Bhabanipur, will now be at the fighting end of the party in this major industrial belt.
Santu Pan (Tarakeswar): Santu Pan, a former journalist has been given a ticket by the BJP as its candidate to Tarakeswar in an important political decision. Pan just joined the party after a couple of weeks of speculation as to whether he would enter active politics.
