Mamata Raises Doubts Over Ajit Pawar Plane Crash, Wants Supreme Court Monitoring

The death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash has triggered fresh political controversy after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee questioned whether the incident was a simple accident and called for a high level inquiry.

Mamata Banerjee said the case should be investigated under the direct supervision of the Supreme Court, stating that recent political developments around Pawar make the circumstances “suspicious”. She pointed out that there had been reports of Pawar considering a break from the ruling Mahayuti alliance.

Expressing shock over the incident, the West Bengal Chief Minister also raised concerns about the overall safety situation in the country and said she would trust only a Supreme Court monitored probe to uncover the truth.
