Murshidabad News: Sensation in illegal infiltration! Indian also arrested for hiding Bangladeshis 

Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants: On Friday afternoon, police raided a big area of Hursi Panchayat within the Hursi Panchayat in Murshidabad. This operation has seen the arrest of 13 individuals, one of them being an Indian citizen. Police asserted that 12 of the arrested are Bangladeshis. They will be remanded in Bahrampur District Court on Saturday and police will demand 10 days custody. 

Bangladeshis arrested: 12 Bangladeshis and one Indian citizen were arrested in a police raid in Char Gopalpur, Murshidabad. The thirteen individuals who were charged with illegal entry and shelter will be taken to court. The incident has been initiated into investigation at Islam Pur police station. 

According to the police sources, during the last couple of days, these 12 individuals entered the country illegally through the Bangladesh-India border and settled in the Char Gopalpur locality. They were in a house of a local resident by the name Sabir Ali. The news spread to the police when the locals aroused suspicion about their movement. Subsequently, on the basis of intelligence obtained by an informer, a force of the Islampur police station and Domkol subdivision police had a raid at the house of Sabir Ali on Friday.

In the process, the arrested Bangladeshis were not able to produce any valid identity documents or papers to get into India. Consequently, they have been charged with illegal entry and a case has been filed against them. Meanwhile, it was found that Sabir Ali was aware that they had illegally entered the border but he nevertheless provided them with shelter. He also was caught committing the same crime.

One of the officers of Domkol subdivision police said, “All the arrested ones were unable to present valid documents. What brought them to this country, who helped them, are any other person lurking in this country or not, everything will be enquired. They will be questioned more so, where the need be. 

As a result of the incident, the sensation became spread in the area. Security concerns have been raised by the local residents. Surveillance in the area has already been enhanced by the police. Sources also indicate that the level of patrolling in the border areas is also being enhanced to eliminate illegal infiltration.

A case has been registered in the police station of Islampur under certain sections and an investigation has been initiated on the entire case. The arrested could be questioned and more information might be leaked.
