Rishi Kapoor’s Old Praise for Alia Bhatt Resurfaces on His Birth Anniversary

4 September-Kolkata, India: The late Indian actor Rishi Kapoor, who is also the father of Ranbir Kapoor, may not be in this world, but his acting skills and his on-screen grace always entertain us today and will continue to live on.

Fans know the legendary actor who passed away in 2020 for some Bollywood blockbusters like ‘Karz’, ‘Prem Rog’, ‘Nagina‘, etc. Today we celebrate the 73rd birthday of the late Indian actor, but before his death, he loved and admired the acting skills of his son’s spouse, Alia Bhatt Kapoor.

During an interview in 2018, the late Rishi Kapoor spoke about how the new generation actors are redefining the Bollywood industry with their grace on screen. His own career was booming at the moment; he was working on The Body (2019), an Indian translation of the Spanish thriller El Cuerpo (2012), and his feature 102 Not Out (2018) had just come out.

During his conversation, he mentioned many young actors with the name of his future daughter-in-law Alia Bhatt was also highlighted during the conversation. Kapoor said “I admire someone like Alia Bhatt, who takes up challenging roles like in Highway and Raazi. It’s very difficult at this tender age to carry a film on their shoulders and only an actor can do that. Also, one has to be lucky enough to get such parts. Alia has been lucky and of course, she has the talent too.”

Years later after Rishi Kapoor’s death, Indian actor Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied their knots on 2022 and would become the daughter-in-law for the Kapoor family. On the birth aniversary of the late actor, Alia Bhatt Kapoor penned an emotional note which stated “Always and forever, miss you… Happy Birthday.”

Alia and Rishi’s relationship went much beyond their mutual appreciation of films. She even travelled to New York to support his future husband Ranbir and the Kapoor family during Rishi Kapoor’s last days while the veteran received treatment for cancer.

Alia Bhatt wrote on his official Instagram post which stated “What can I say. About this beautiful man… who brought soo much love and goodness into my life. Today, everyone speaks of the legend that is Rishi Kapoor… and though I’ve known him like that all my life…for the past two years I’ve known him as a friend, a fellow Chinese food lover, a total cinema lover, a fighter, a leader, a beautiful storyteller, an extremely passionate tweeter and a father! In these past two years the love I have received from him is like a warm hug that I will always cherish! I thank the universe for giving me this opportunity to know him…today probably most of us can say he is like family – because that’s how he made you feel! Love you, Rishi Uncle! Will miss you forever! Thank you for being you!.”

It is still among the most heartwarming remembrances of their relationship, which started with admiration and ended with intense familial love.
