Teenage Girl Stabbed to Death by Jilted Lover in Nagpur’s Ajni

On August 30, 2025, in Nagpur’s Ajni district, a 16-year-old student named Angel was fatally stabbed near Gulmohar Colony. Her attacker was her 17-year-old ex-boyfriend, who lay in wait outside her school. He carried out the attack moments after she rejected him and started following another boy on Instagram. She fought back, ran, and collapsed. She later passed away at the Government Medical College and Hospital after speaking to her family.

Planning and Premeditation Behind the Attack

Investigators say the crime was not impulsive. The accused, also a student and a part-time caretaker, plotted the murder for almost a month. He bought a knife and carried Rs 4,000 in cash. He originally planned to murder the other boy, but abandoned that idea and turned his anger toward Angel instead.

Police’s Swift Action

Nagpur Crime Branch, led by SI Kamlakar Gaddime, quickly apprehended the suspect. Following CCTV footage and cyber forensics, the team traced him to his relative’s house near Gangabai Ghat, then to Nara Ghat, where he hid. The accused had injured his hand; Angel’s father confirmed he had a criminal history himself. Police also brought in cyber experts to investigate whether his friends helped him escape. Additional forces were deployed around schools and key neighbourhoods to prevent further unrest.

The incident left the community shaken—loss of a bright young life, and a boyfriend’s jealousy turned explosive. Parents around Angel’s school are now demanding safer environments and mental health support for students.

Angel’s case is a tragedy that highlights the urgency of teaching emotional resilience to our young people. It shows how easily violence can erupt when affection feels entitlement.
