New Era of Tourism: India and Philippines Open Up to Each Other

6 August- Kolkata, India: To increase the bilateral relations between India and the Philippines, the countries decided to increase the tourism sector and strengthen connections with each other’s nationals. The Philippine government figured to grant visa-free entry for Indian passport holders, while also accepting the hospitality, the Indian government also granted visa-free entry to Filipino tourists.

The plans to launch direct flight service between the Philippines and India align with the decision, which we anticipate will happen in the upcoming months. This development will make travel more convenient and also increase bilateral exchanges.

Indian Govt on its relations with the Philippines

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the Philippines government and said, “We welcome the decision of the Philippines to grant visa-free entry to Indian tourists. In turn, India has decided to extend the facility of free e-visas to tourists from the Philippines. We will also make efforts to launch direct flights between Delhi and Manila within this year.”

Randhir Jaiswal, a member of the Ministry of External Affairs(MEA), explained the Philippines’ stance, pointing out that Indian tourists and visitors can now enter the country for up to 14 days without a visa. He further added, “We expect that these measures would bolster our tourism exchanges, commercial linkages, and people-to-people interactions.”

These initiatives are positioned to strengthen economic and cultural links, allowing citizens of both countries to explore each other’s thriving economies and rich cultural legacies.
