PM Modi Declares No Talks with Pakistan Except on PoK and Terrorism

India Draws a Clear Line on Kashmir Talks
In a bold and unequivocal statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear that India will not enter into any discussions with Pakistan regarding Jammu and Kashmir unless the subject is Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) or Pakistanโs role in sponsoring terrorism. His remarks come on the heels of Operation Sindoor, Indiaโs high-precision military response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.
Operation Sindoor Marks a Strategic Shift
Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, signals a turning point in Indiaโs approach to national security. PM Modi described it as a โnew policy,โ stating that the days of silent tolerance toward terrorism are over. The operation has been widely interpreted as a demonstration of Indiaโs military and diplomatic resolve.
Mediation Offers Rejected
While international players, including the United States, have voiced willingness to mediate between India and Pakistan, the Prime Minister reiterated Indiaโs long-standing position, Kashmir is a bilateral issue and no external power has a role to play. โOur stand is firm and clear,โ he said, reinforcing Indiaโs sovereign stance.
Talks Conditional on Action Against Terrorism
Emphasizing that dialogue and terror cannot go hand in hand, PM Modi warned that any future engagement with Islamabad would depend entirely on Pakistan taking concrete action against terrorism. โPeace talks cannot move forward while the threat of cross-border attacks looms,โ he added.
