Punjab Police Clear Farmers from Shambhu Border: A Turning Point in the Protest?



The recent removal of farmers from the Shambhu border by Punjab Police marks a significant turning point in the year-long protest against the controversial farm laws. Punjab Police has ended the protest of farmers sitting on Shambhu and Khanauri border for a year. Arvind Kejriwal’s Punjab tour, feedback from industrialists and Ludhiana by-election are being cited as the main reasons.

Punjab Police also resorted to bulldozer action to remove the tents of farmers from Shambhu Border and Khanauri Border. Using bulldozers, Punjab Police uprooted and threw away the tents of farmers from Shambhu and Khanauri Border. In this way, Shambhu border has opened after 13 months. After Punjab, Haryana also opened its tents.
