Delhi Fashion Week 2026: Celebrating Handlooms and Culture

New Delhi: Delhi Fashion Week 2026 was successfully held on 27th August 2026 at ITPO, Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, as part of the five-day Film Expo India held from 25th to 30th August 2026.[India]

The fashion extravaganza celebrated Indian handlooms, Khadi and the rich cultural heritage of Northeast India through fashion, art and cultural performances.

The event was organised by Delhi Fashion Club in collaboration with Film Expo India, in association with NEHHDC (North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation), and executed by VOY Media & Events. The show was directed by Harshit Dhingaun, Celebrity Fashion Director and Chairman of Delhi Fashion Club.

Themed _’Naari Shakti – Weaving Viksit Bharat | International Reinvent Northeast – Season 8′, the event brought together 40+ models, 7 designer segments, weavers, artisans and cultural performers from across India.

Key highlights included traditional sarees from NEHHDC’s Purbashree brand featuring authentic Eri Silk and Meghalaya’s famous Ryndia Silk. Designer Batkyntilin Mawthoh and master weaver Iaineh presented the exclusive Meghalaya collection.

Archana Niranjan, Mrs. Universe Oceania 2025, walked as showstopper for the Khadi collection, while celebrity dancer Kanchan Chakma was the showstopper for the Ryndia Silk collection.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Bollywood actor Vindu Dara Singh. Guests of Honour included Shri Mara Kocho (MD, NEHHDC), Dr. Kiran Sethi (Delhi Police, popularly known as ‘Lady Singham’), Mrs. Ledia Awomi Zhimomi from Nagaland and Dr. Neetu Malhotra.

Delhi Fashion Week 2026 successfully united fashion, women empowerment, entrepreneurship and tourism on one platform, reflecting the spirit of Viksit Bharat.
