Next Generation’s Talent Is Going Down the Drain: Shamik Bhattacharya Raises Concern Over Bengal’s potential

Kolkata: BJP West Bengal president Shamik Bhattacharya raised concerns over the growing “brain drain” from West Bengal at an event held at Central Park in Salt Lake.
Bhattacharya said that narrow politics and the growing influence of politics in everyday life are causing the state to lose talented young people.
He said Bengal once played an important role in guiding the country, but political interference has pushed the state to the margins. He pointed out that Bengalis are doing well outside the state and in institutions such as NASA, ISRO and Silicon Valley, but many are not getting enough opportunities to contribute to their home state.
Bhattacharya also stressed the need for a properly functioning democratic system. He said the government should work as the “West Bengal state government” for everyone, regardless of political party.
He also said that protecting the right to oppose is an important part of democracy. According to him, if this right is taken away, no democratic system can remain strong for long.
His remarks focused on the success of Bengalis outside the state, the need to protect democratic values and the importance of creating better opportunities for the next generation of talented young people in West Bengal.
