Where to Watch the MI vs PBKS IPL 2026 Match?

Tonight on April 16, the Match 24 of IPL 2026 takes center stage at Wankhede Stadium when the Mumbai Indians clash with Punjab Kings. This is going to be a highly crucial encounter for the Mumbai team considering the five-time champions find themselves in an entirely opposite situation compared to their opponents.

The Mumbai Indians have failed miserably and find themselves occupying the 9th spot on the points table having lost three consecutive games. Their poor run can be attributed to inconsistency in the powerplay and failure to pick wickets with ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah failing to make an impact recently despite taking no wickets. Moreover, another problem for MI is that of opener Rohit Sharma, who may miss the upcoming game due to a hamstring injury in the previous one against RCB.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings are doing well in the tournament, winning all of their matches. They lead from the front under captaincy of Shreyas Iyer and remain the only unbeaten team in the ongoing IPL season. The Kings will certainly hope to continue their good run and reach finals like they did last year through Qualifier 2.

According to the conditions on the Wankhede pitch, the ground will continue to be a “batsman’s paradise,” which means that it will be fast and have short boundaries. Meteorologists have emphasized the dew factor on the pitch, which means that the humidity level is likely to be 76%. Such conditions favor the side batting second because the ball will become slippery later in the game.

Head-to-Head Stats

However, when it comes to the overall statistics, the records are level between these two sides in every way imaginable. Both teams boast an identical number of wins after 34 head-to-head clashes with 17 wins each. While personal performance numbers favor Mumbai based on Rohit Sharma’s total of more than 600 runs and Jasprit Bumrah’s tally of 24 wickets, Punjab’s recent success in these two’s most important matchups tips the scales back to equalization.
