Jos Buttler’s 100th T20 Fifty Powers GT To Thrilling Win As LSG Crumble in IPL 2026

The excitement is high on Sunday, as cricket fans across India enjoy a thrilling double-header in IPL 2026. In the first match of the day, the Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans locked horns, and the thrills touched the sky. As the home side struggled, Shubman Gill and Co. registered a thrilling victory. Let’s relive the moment.

GT bowlers go beast mode as LSG batting crumbles under pressure

After struggling with their form initially, the Gujarat Titans found their rhythm in the last match, and their bowlers turned heads again against LSG. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, GT put early pressure on the opposition as Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh opened the innings.

Kagiso Rabada struck in just the second over, drawing first blood by dismissing Marsh and setting the tone for GT’s dominance. After that, Markram and Rishabh Pant tried to build a partnership, but Siraj sent the LSG skipper back in just 18 runs.

As the LSG batters were struggling on their home soil, Prasidh Krisha’s unreal excellence made their job even harder. While conceding just 28 runs in four overs, he registered a clinical four-wicket haul, with an economy rate of 7.00.

Relentless pressure from GT’s bowlers left LSG with no room to recover, as the batting unit struggled to find momentum. Mukul Choudhary, who was the hero of LSG’s last game, fell for only 18 runs. With that, the Gujarat Titans restricted them to just 164 runs.

Gill-Buttler duo crushes LSG’s dreams in a dramatic chase

Chasing down the total, the Gujarat Titans had a decent chase as Sai Sudharsan stitched a 45-run opening partnership with Captain Shubman Gill. After Sudharsan walked away, scoring 15 runs, Jos Buttler joined captain Gill, and the Titans received their desired boost.

The duo proved to be heavy on the LSG bowlers. After Gill completed a sensational half-century, Jos Buttler smashed the 100th T20 half-century of his career. The moment got even more special as the duo gave a massive boost to the team’s total with an 84-run stand.

Mohammad Shami, Digvesh Rathi, and Prince Yadav secured one wicket each, but GT batters just took the game away from them. Chasing with confidence, they wrapped up the target inside 19 overs, sealing a commanding 7-wicket victory.
