Bengal stirs again over SSC list

West Bengal : The state is once again in a state of turmoil surrounding the SSC (School Service Commission) examination. The Karunamayee Chattar was in a state of turmoil on Tuesday as the interview list for class 11 and 12 teachers was released. Meanwhile, the School Service Commission issued a new notification in the evening announcing the interview date.
According to the notification, the interview phase will start in the regional offices from November 26. The commission has informed that all eligible candidates will be called in a phased manner. Notably, the recruitment of about 26 thousand candidates was cancelled due to the cancellation of the entire recruitment panel in the SSC corruption case. At that time, the Supreme Court had directed that a fresh recruitment process should be completed within this year. Following that directive, the work of preparing the examination and list has been going on for the last few months.
However, after the interview list was published, many job seekers were outraged. As the cutoff was drastically increased, many candidates did not get a call even after scoring above 60. In the list published by the commission, only a little over 20,000 candidates were selected for the interview. And Karunamoyee became agitated against this decision. Old job seekers and new examinees started protesting simultaneously.
The debate over the recruitment process has also intensified. Although the written exams for classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 were completed earlier, the exams for Group C and Group D are still pending. But in the meantime, questions have started to arise about the commission’s decision as the interview list for level 11 and 12 has been published. The cutoff has created the most resentment. This time the cutoff is more than 70 percent, as a result of which new candidates are in the most trouble. Many complain that such a high cutoff has not been seen before, and it gives more advantage to experienced candidates than to new ones.
