Bihar Teenager Allegedly Gang-Raped in Bhubaneswar; Rescued by Autorickshaw Drivers

BHUBANESWAR: A 17-year-old girl from Bihar was allegedly gang-raped in the Odisha state capital, Bhubaneswar. The incident was brought to light after a group of alert autorickshaw drivers found the survivor in a distressed condition and intervened to help.

According to police sources, the drivers acted swiftly upon finding the girl, rescuing her and admitting her to the nearby Capital Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Following notification from the hospital authorities, local police initiated a formal investigation into the assault. A case has been registered, and officials are working to record the survivor’s statement. The police have stated that her testimony will be critical in identifying and apprehending the individuals responsible for the heinous crime. The investigation is ongoing.
