‘Main Bhi Bharat Hoon’: Rajnath Singh Says PoK Will Return to India on Its Own

Rabat, Morocco: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while addressing the Indian community in Morocco, reaffirmed that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) will eventually become part of India without military action. He emphasized that the people of PoK are dissatisfied with the current administration and have begun voicing demands for freedom.

Singh’s Remarks

Singh recalled a statement he made five years ago in Jammu and Kashmir, noting:

“We will not need to attack and capture PoK. It is already ours. One day, PoK itself will say, ‘Main bhi Bharat hoon.”

He reiterated that India believes in patience and restraint, adding that broad-minded nations do not react impulsively to provocations.

US Tariff Issue

The Defence Minister also responded to questions on the recent 50% tariff imposed by the US on Indian exports, including penalties linked to Russian oil imports. Singh clarified that India had chosen not to retaliate immediately, stressing:

“Those who are broad-minded and large-hearted do not respond instantly.”

Political Context

Singh’s comments came amid criticism from opposition leaders who argued that India had missed a chance to reclaim PoK during Operation Sindoor on May 7, when Indian forces had reportedly gained the upper hand over Pakistan.
