Jannik Sinner’s Challenge: Alcaraz Claims US Open 2025

Carlos Alcaraz secures his second Grand Slam of 2025 by defeating Jannik Sinner in US Open final 2025 by 6-2,3-6,6-1,6-4 on Arthur Ashley Stadium.

Alcaraz sealed his position as World No. 1 by defeating Sinner in a two hour nail-biting game. His four set victory against Sinner clinched him his 6th Grand Slam of his tennis career.

23 Thousand fans had to wait for an hour as the final was delayed due to US President Trump’s security concerns.

Alcaraz won the first set but was followed by a setback in second. Just when Sinner took control of the match, Alcaraz showed resilience and brought the game back on his side. After that Sinner could hardly make the comeback. But the drama never fell short just like the previous Wimbledon and French Open finals.

Sinner had more unforced error while Alcaraz had no double faults in the finale.

Alcaraz won 84% of his first serve points. Alcaraz’s tremendous determination of winning US open to put the final nail in the coffin for this year’s Grand Slam was clearly shown in his game.

Despite reaching the final knocking Djokovic out, Sinner fails to win his 2nd US open and lost his position as world no.1.

This duo’s compelling rivalry clearly reminds us of Federer-Nadal duo as they have both been in all the 4 finals of Grand Slam making it 2-2 for 2025.

“I want to start with Jannik, it’s unbelievable what you’re doing the whole season, great level during every tournament that you’re playing. I’m seeing you more than my family” said Alcaraz after winning his 2nd US Open.

He further added, “It’s great to share a court, to share the locker room, to share everything with you”.

While, in the Women’s US Open final 2025 Aryna Sabalenka secures her title by defeating Anisimova with a straight set victory by 6-3,7-6.
