Tauseef Badshah arrived at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) with a team of armed men. Around 2:00 PM, they located Javed, a rival gangster admitted for treatment after a prior attack. Despite being under police protection, Javed was gunned down in broad daylight.

Hospital staff, visitors, and patients fled in panic. The attackers showed no fear, as security cameras captured Tauseef calmly walking away after firing multiple rounds. Police later confirmed Javed succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Javed had been shot days earlier and was admitted to NMCH under police supervision. However, only two officers were reportedly on duty near his ward. Neither responded effectively during the attack. Both have been suspended pending investigation.

Sources indicate that his gang controls extortion rackets and land disputes across Patna and surrounding districts. He had been evading arrest despite multiple warrants. With this murder, Tauseef has crossed a dangerous threshold, turning a hospital into a crime scene.

The murder has sparked a major political storm in Bihar. Opposition leaders accused the state government of failing to protect even hospital patients. RJD’s Manoj Jha said, “This is the collapse of governance. Criminals walk freely while police sleep.”

BJP leaders echoed similar sentiments, stating that Bihar has become unsafe under Nitish Kumar’s rule. In response, the state home department ordered a special task force to track Tauseef and revamp hospital security protocols across the state.

Hospital staff and public left traumatized
