On July 10, a fatal school incident shocked Hisar’s educational community. Two Class XII students of Kartar Memorial Senior Secondary School stabbed their 52-year-old principal, Jagbir Singh Pannu. The attack followed repeated instructions to follow grooming guidelines — specifically, to cut their hair and tuck in their shirts.

Both students reportedly called the principal outside under the pretense of a conversation. When they reached a CCTV-blind area, one pulled out a folding knife and stabbed Pannu multiple times. The principal was rushed to a hospital but died due to severe injuries.

The students had received several verbal warnings about violating the school’s uniform and grooming rules. Despite that, they showed repeated non-compliance. Teachers noted that the two had developed hostility towards the principal in recent weeks.
